Acknowledgment of First Peoples

At Neurobeing, we honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the First Peoples of the lands now known as Australia. We recognise that sovereignty was never ceded and this nation’s First Peoples are connected to the oldest continuing cultures on earth. We acknowledge the many Nations across this continent and pay respect to Elders past and present. We honour First Peoples ways of being, knowing, and relating to Country. We understand that cultural perspectives of disability, identity, community, and wellbeing may differ from dominant Western frameworks. We are committed to listening, learning, and working alongside cultural knowledge holders to ensure our practice is respectful, responsive, and culturally aware. As a neuroaffirming and justice-oriented practice, Neurobeing stands in solidarity with First Peoples in ongoing efforts toward equity and social justice.
